 Information for Guests

Welcome on behalf of Brisbane Friends to our guest accommodation. We hope you will enjoy your stay.

 Keys

Your key-set includes
1. a key to your room and
2. a key to the external door at the bottom of the stairs.

Please lock the external door when you go to bed at night and when you leave during the day unless a group is taking place in the upstairs main room or in the downstairs garden room. Groups renting our rooms need to have access to the kitchen and to the toilets. Locking is a precaution as we have had no adverse events in the tenure of the current caretakers, since 1996. You can use your discretion about locking your room but do lock it whenever you leave to go to the shops or into the city.
When locking up, please check that all four doors in the garden room are locked.

 The Room
We provide bed and breakfast. The room contains one double bed plus one double sofa-bed.

 Rates
Quaker Members: $35 per person per night plus $10 per each extra person per night.
Others: $40 per person per night plus $12 per each extra person per night.
Weekly rate by arrangement.

Access to Kitchen and to Garden Room
Basic breakfast foods and beverages are provided for you in the kitchen.

You may access the kitchen in the morning up to 9am and usually in the evening between 5 and 7pm. The general principle is that you will not have access to the kitchen when a group is taking place downstairs and you will have access to the kitchen and the garden room when no group is present. However the groups who use our meeting house are often willing, by prior arrangement, to share the kitchen facilities with guests unless doing so will interfere with their work. We will be glad to inform you about group usage so that you can plan your day accordingly.

Normal times for group useage (on those days when groups are present) are 9am to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm. Saturdays and Sundays usually have several groups including our own Sunday Meeting for Worship.

 Meeting for Worship
You will be most welcome to join us for our Sunday Meeting upstairs - 10.00am to 11.00am and for a cup of tea and biscuits downstairs afterwards. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you have not attended a Quaker Meeting before we will be glad to answer any questions. Most of your questions might be answered by a leaflet entitled "First Time in Meeting" which you can get from the caretakers or from the table outside the upstairs door.
